Today was one of those days!

Today was one of those days.

I completely flipped my lid.

I yelled and raged and cried a lot.

It was a buildup, a stacking, much like what happens for our kids.

Little things, big things throughout the day and week compound and add up until whoa!

The volcano explodes!

Perhaps you’ve been there too?

Whilst I’m not completely proud to share all the parts of this experience, I am committed to showing up with authenticity and I think it’s important to share the humanness that lives within each of us.

The reality is I reacted and did not respond from a regulated place.

But what I mostly want to share is what I did afterwards.

80% of parenting (maybe 90!) is about repair.  And so, not long afterwards and again in the evening, I repaired and reconnected.

I’m not here to give you advice on the repair process. I don’t want this to be about what to do, or the steps to take.

It’s as individual to you as it is to the experience between you and your child.

Be guided by your innate wisdom and deep connection with your child.

I simply share to say, you are not alone.

If you’ve reacted from a place of disconnection or out of alignment with your values, you are not alone.

And it likely won’t be the last time either. So put down the stick, any self-loathing or judgement.

Self-compassion and love are what’s most needed. 💛

I was so grateful to be able to take my feelings, shortly after the rupture into a group container (thank you Voxer voice app 🙏) where I could share openly, vulnerably and with all honesty.

I felt heard, seen and less alone.  It was like actual balm for my soul.

It made all the difference in that moment and meant I could come back to balance and reconnect with my boys and back into the flow of the afternoon.

There were other things I did to support myself and soothe my nervous system, but I am most proud of voicing the vulnerable truth as the feelings were so present and alive, knowing that if I gave them some space to be heard they would move through my body.

It really is such a potent experience to have a space to share in this way.

So after reading this, I invite you to click the link to a Free 15minute connection call so you can see how it feels to be in space and energy with me. Click the link to find a suitable time. Come with a cuppa, solo or kiddies at your feet or in your lap.

We can chat about where you find yourself in your mothering and/or anything that feels alive for you in your body, mind or soul.

All is so very welcome.

I want to remind you again how deeply valuable the work you do is, and the world desperately needs more resourced mammas that feel seen, heard and loved just as they are.

With love and connection,

Emily xxx
